Charlie Scheips, 1981

Charles Dare Scheips is a painter, curator and author based in New York.   In the 1980s he was assistant to David Hockney.   He lives and works in Manhattan where he was born in 1959.   He has a B.A. in Art from Ripon College in Wisconsin where he studied with painters Erwin Breithaupt, James Thompson and Olympia Ogilvie.   Scheips received an M.A.  in American Studies from Columbia University.
